Nicole Ullrich (October 2010)

German artist Nicoll Ullrich’s temporary installations expose the often invisible space where art work is made, using found materials, wood, glass, carpet and paper and focusing on the setting around art - the artist’s studio; the work desk; ideas pinned to walls; the leftovers of discarded choices. During her Centrum residency/exhibition at Centrum she used, as her starting point, a found image of a German artist’s studio. The resulting work was reviewed by This Is Tommorrow here. The Finissage included a talk with the artist Hannah Kruse, who is Co-Director of Goldrausch.
